El Chorro. The way to the King's path. Reservoir Condo del Guadalhorce

When the bus from the station of El Chorro drove up to the Northern entrance of the Caminito del Rey, the left of the road opened a wonderful view that leaving the bus, I headed straight up there.

Navigator showed that the scenic headland jutting out into the deep water of the reservoir only about half a kilometer.

On the road there is another entrance on the Royal path Small tunnel (Túnel pequeño map). Here begins the "Short way" (Acceso corto) to the checkpoint of the Trail. Its length is about 1500 meters, which is about twice shorter than the "Long way"  (Acceso Largo). About the beauty of this route can not say anything, I walked through a long, and I think he's more interesting. Here always find crowds of tourists, but, pass on it, apparently wanting a little bit. Looking back, I saw a dark dungeon with a small spot of light in the distance, from which pulled a sepulchral cold, where no lantern is better not to meddle. The length of the tunnel nearly 200 metres and the height and width of about two meters, walk on it is not obviously not for those suffering from claustrophobia.

Well, I went further, along the steep banks of the reservoir.

Hydroelectric power station on the river Guadalhorce construction began in 1914 under the guidance of renowned electrical engineer Raphael, Benjumea (Rafael Benjumea). Construction was completed in the spring of 1921, may 21, station commissioned by king Alfonso XIII, and the master Builder received the title the title of count of Guadalhorce.

body of water was named Pantano del Chorro, and in 1953 received the name of the Conde de Guadalhorce (Embalse Conde de Guadalhorce).

Attraction "Caminito del Rey" was opened for mass tourism only a year ago, and the surrounding area was quickly overgrown by the recreational infrastructure on the Cape is landscaped area "Park of Ardales".
