Malaga. Heredia Pasaje
A shopping Mall built in the first half of the 19th century in the likeness of Parisian Department stores-passages, some architectural historians consider the first building of this type in Spain. The initiator of the construction was the pioneer of industrialization Manuel Heredia, in 1836-1837, the industrialist bought the building of the old city prison and the chapel of Santa Lucia next to Constitution square and built a large commercial center in their place.
From the original building, only the facades and the first floor with colonnades, where shops were located, remain.
